January 2007 Bright Boot Camp a total success!
31 riders rocked up to ride the Australia Day weekend Bright Boot Camp. We had a fantastic four days of cycling. The riders were seeded into three bunches biased on their ability to climb Mt Buffalo on the first day.

Group A blasted through the four days getting to the top of the major climbs in good time. The weather was fantastic throughout the whole 4 days with Mt Hotham being the coldest accent at 6 degrees as well as the toughest climb of the camp. Day four was the hardest, taking on a climb of Falls Creek with two crossings of Tawonga Gap.

David Anton donned the Polka Dot Jersey on day one, only to lose it on day two to Chris Price. David then reclaimed and held it for the remainder of the camp with a consistent blistering effort across all the major climbs.

Steve Hogg and Matt Brindle’s lectures both delivered very informative information on bicycle positioning and functional strength training.

It was challenging but everyone enjoyed themselves. Many vowing to come back for the next camp.

The next Bright Boot Camp is scheduled for early 2-6 November 2007 (Melbourne Cup Weekend).

The camp after that will be run over Australia Day weekend in 2008.

"I am really looking forward to the challenge and can't wait to get back to have a go at
Mt Hotham!"
Mark, QLD Australia.

Aavid Anton
"This was an awesome four days of riding. I got to meet a group of top blokes and learnt quite a few tips from the experience of the other riders.

Riding up Hotham was the absolute highlight. When the guys I was riding with arrived near the top (where the mountain opens up like a European climb) it was simply a buzz. I can't explain how much fun it was to climb a mountain such as this with a group of riders with a similar ability pushing each other up the hill.

The forums were very interesting and informative particularly the "Bike Fit" and "Core Strength" sessions. I have a new found confidence and can't wait for my next challenge."
Dave, VIC Australia

Bruce
"Thanks for a great weekend, well organized, some challenging rides, fun and informative. Please pass on our thanks to support riders Olaf & Aaron – they did a great job, as did Rus. Thanks to all"
Bruce, VIC Australia.
